Imagination Celebration Returns to Pratt Library

March 26, 2024

BALTIMORE – Imagination Celebration is coming back to the Enoch Pratt Free Library. The month-long series of magical events at all Pratt locations celebrates children’s creativity and helps promote a love of learning in our smallest customers. This year’s celebration is centered around the book Mary Had A Little Plan by Tammi Sauer, illustrated by Vanessa Brantley-Newton. The Pratt Central Library will be transformed into scenes from that book during the Imagination Celebration Free Family Festival. The beloved event was attended by more than 2400 people last year.

Imagination Celebration 2024

WHAT: Pratt Library Imagination Celebration Free Family Festival
WHERE:
Pratt Central Library, 400 Cathedral St.
WHEN:
Saturday, April 6, 10am – 2pm

Free copies of the book will be given away while supplies last. Families will get a chance to meet the author and illustrator, watch a bubble magic show, take home arts and crafts, see a puppet show, meet animals from Wildlife Adventures, and more. “Last year, families were lined up outside the library before we opened the doors for the Imagination Celebration kickoff,” says Pratt Library Interim CEO Darcell Graham. “This festival truly shows young people how books can come to life before your eyes and will hopefully inspire them to become lifelong readers.”

The kickoff festival starts a month of programs at all Pratt locations surrounding the themes of empowerment, community, and cooperation that are highlighted in Mary Had A Little Plan. Free Imagination Kits filled with fun arts and crafts projects will be handed out at branches while supplies last.
