Forest Park Branch Renovations
The Forest Park Branch is getting a new look! Learn more about the renovations and improvements coming to the Forest Park Branch.
The Forest Park Branch will be closed for renovations in September of 2023 for a full-scale renovation of this historic building.
The renovations and improvements to the building, pictured below in architectural renderings, include:
- Building addition that includes an accessible entrance off Fairview Avenue
- Modernized children’s space with interactives
- New teen and tween zones with technology access
- Outdoor landscaping and seating for exterior Wi-Fi access
- New meeting room
- Quiet study spaces
- An elevator
- Accessible restrooms
- New HVAC and electrical systems
- Self check-out machines
The Forest Park Branch first opened in 1910. The building was funded by philanthropist, Andrew Carnegie. The building was remodeled and enlarged in 1954.
The Pratt will work closely with community partners to provide pop-up library services during the closure. Stay tuned for more details.
While the Forest Park Branch is closed, customers are invited to visit other Pratt locations.
